A pursuit which started in Lone Oak, ends on FM 513 S with suspect bailing out of vehicle, and hitting the woods.
Around 7:00pm on 5/07/2019 Lone Oak officer 702 called into dispatch that he was in a pursuit. 702 advised he was Southbound on FM 513 S headed towards the Tawakoni area in pursuit of a vehicle with speeds reaching up to 100 MPH. Several other Hunt County officers shot that direction to backup officer.
Lone Oak officer 702 advised around the cross street of White Rock Dr, off of Fm 513 S, that the vehicle had slowed down to speeds of 35 MPH. The officer stated the subject had stopped the vehicle in the mentioned area above, and took off on foot into the treeline.
Several other Hunt County officers made scene to help search for the suspect. The tracking dog from Raines County was called in to assist. Officers searched the area for nearly 30 minutes, when local Mr D’s helicopter service joined in on the search via air helicopter.
Despite all of the officers searching, along with helicopter assistance, authorities were unable to locate the subject that ran from the vehicle. The officers over the scanner, stated subject possibly had a ride pick him up in a pickup truck, as dispatch received a call of a vehicle driving erratic in the area. The vehicle that suspect ran from was registered locally, so officers will have no problem catching this criminal.
The public is in no danger from this incident, officers do believe suspect left the area. We will give a more detailed update once Lone Oak releases a statement on what occurred.
