On November 15, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to a shooting call in the 2800 block of Kirven Drive. Witnesses stated that three Black males approached the victim, Raul Carrillo Resendiz, a 49-year-old male, and a young Black male with short dreadlocks shot him. The suspects then fled the location in a small four-door sedan, possibly a Honda Civic, with black rims.

The victim’s daughter, Diana Resendiz, a 30-year-old Latin female, pursued the suspects in her vehicle. She was later found in her vehicle in the 9100 block of Jennie Lee Lane with a gunshot wound. Witnesses at that scene reported seeing a similar vehicle flee the location after she was shot.

Dallas Fire and Rescue transported Raul Carrillo Resendiz to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Diana Resendiz was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Dallas Police collected surveillance video of the suspect vehicle and are asking that anyone with information regarding this offense to contact Detective Grubbs with the Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (469) 540-6377 or david.grubbsjr@dallascityhall.com.
