A motorcycle accident in front of the Campbell Store Saturday claims the life of one.

Hunt County EMS along with Commerce Rescue and Campbell Fire responded to the area of Highway 24 and Farm Road 499 Saturday afternoon in reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

Once units arrived on the scene and evaluated the patient, a medical helicopter (AirEvac 67) was launched to the scene. Highway 24 was temporarily shut down.

Department of Public Safety was called to the scene to investigate the traffic accident. Units were on scene for some time painting the ground around a black motorcycle, which lay on its side in the middle of Highway 24. This was dispatched out as a vehicle vs motorcycle.

Unfortunately, we got word that the occupant of the motorcycle did not survive their injuries. We have requested a press release from DPS, as of Monday evening, they haven’t responded.

Prayers for the family and first responders involved, we will update as we learn more.
