Third Alarm Fire In Quinlan Keeping Hunt County Firefighters Busy

Quinlan Fire & Cash Fire units are enroute to the 6800 block of Dry Creek Rd for a tractor, Hay Bales & Grass on fire at this time.

Units on scene advising the fire is headed for the trees, bumping up to a 3rd alarm fire at this time. Union Valley Fire, Tawakoni South Fire, Caddo Mills Fire & West Tawakoni Fire units are enroute for mutual aid.

Disturbance With Shots Fired In Hunt County

On April 29, 2019 the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a “Disturbance in Progress with weapons” in the 900 block of Private Road 3784.

Upon arrival deputies learned that a subject had come to the house in an attempt to confront a person he believed had stolen several items from his residence which included several firearms. During this time the suspect exited the residence and a verbal altercation ensued which led to gunshots being exchanged between the two persons. This not only endangered the lives of the persons doing the shooting but also several by-standers in close proximity one of which was a juvenile female. The suspects left the residence driving a black Honda Accord.

Investigators with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office questioned those on scene and processed the crime scene. As of this press release a subject is in custody on an unrelated warrant and is being questioned in this offense.

Major Accident South Of Quinlan On Highway 34 Claims The Life Of One

DPS has released the following statement regarding the major accident on Hwy 34 South of Quinlan on Saturday.

The preliminary investigation indicates a grey Ford Escape coming from private road 3780 failed to yield to a cement truck while turning South onto State Highway 34. The cement truck was traveling South on SH-34 and attempted to avoid hitting the Ford Escape but clipped the back drivers side then then crossed into the North bound lanes of travel hitting a Ford Flex head on.

The driver and passenger of the Ford Escape were transported by Medical Helicopters with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the cement truck was transported by Hunt County EMS to Hunt Regional Medical Center of Quinlan with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Flex was pronounced deceased on scene.

Name of the deceased has not been released. DPS will continue their investigation of the accident

Afternoon Rollover On Highway 276 Near Bella Vista Dr

A late afternoon rollover accident on Hwy 276 near Bella Vista Rd sends one to jail.

Hunt County EMS, Quinlan Fire & Cash Rescue responded to a rollover accident on highway 276 near Bella Vista Dr this afternoon. Patient refused treatment from AMR and was arrested by HCSO and booked into Hunt County Jail.
